Salah satu pasukan yang menang dalam sukan peringkat kakitangan UBD

In order to bind ties between officers and staffs of the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), recently (Wednesday 30 October 2013) an interfaculty sports meet was held at eh UBD Sports Complex. The sports meet was held in conjunction with the UBD Convocational Festival 2013.

The sports meet saw the competition of five groups consists of UBD departments and faculties namely Kaduk, Kemangi, Maman, Pengaga and Ulam Raja. The half day sports meet saw the officers and staffs participating in fun games and traditional sports such as tire rolling, hockey using rugby ball, water carrying and tug of war.

Meanwhile on the last Sunday (27 October 2013, Sunday) similar sports meet for UBD students was also held. The students category sports meet saw they UBD students representing their respective faculties participating in athletics and tug of war event. The students interfaculty category saw the Faculty of Arts and Social Science (FASS) emerged as overall champion.

Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) football team last recently (3 October 2013, Thursday) receive sports wear contribution for its participation on the Deputy Minister of Education 3rd football cup in conjunction with the 23rd teachers day celebration.

The contribution consists of jersey, cap and clothing for team supervisors and officer which is contributed by two companies Noh Syazwani Boutique and Tailoring company and Sumayah Enterprise. Present to receive the contribution was Ahmad Faisal bin Haji Zainal Abidin, UBD dean of students.

According to UBD ECA Officer Ali Sabri bin Hj.Abang said “We hoped with the contribution the Higher Institution (IPT) team which comprise of UBD and Brunei Polytechnic will perform well as the previous edition. In the football championship 20 teams will participate under 5 groups and it will started on the upcoming 13 October.”

39 academic and non academic staffs from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) currently at Kuching, Sarawak to participate the Borneo Higher Learning Institutes Friendship Sports which was held at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). The sports meet will be held from 3-8 February.

According to the UBD ECA Officer Mohd Ali Sabri bin Haji Abang said “UBD will be participating five our of ten events namely mixed badminton, open male futsal, veteran futsal, dart and bowling. We hoped that the UBD contingent can perform well as they did in the previous edition which was held in Brunei in 2009.”

Among the objectives of the sports meet was to strengthened ties between Borneo Universities staffs as well as it was a platform for the staffs to exchange ideas on sports as well as on academic development. The sports meet was held once every two years at selected Borneo Universities where UBD had been the host of the sport when it was held in Brunei back in 2009.

Meanwhile on Tuesday (5 February 2013, Tuesday) at the UNIMAS Indoor Futsal Arena, Kuching UBD managed to beat their opponents in two categories. In the veteran futsal category UBD manages to beat Kuching Polytechnic 2-0 while in second game UBD manages to defeat IPG Batu Lintang 5-0. With deafeating both team UBD veteran managed itself to the final round.

While in the open futsal category UBD team and Kota Kinabalu Polytechnic manages to share 1-1 score while on the second game UBD manages to defeat Mukah Polytechnic 3-0. UBD also defeated UNISSA team 8-0. Unfortunately UBD was defeated in return by UMS Sabah 1-0.

Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) through its Career and Caunseling Unit  recently (11 April 2012, Wednesday) held the “Minda Siswa2012”forum. The forum was held at the UBD Student Centre.

 

Present as guest of honour to the event was Dr.Hj.Ramlee bin Hj.Tingkong, UBD Dean of Students, also present was UBD and other higher learning institute officer as well as students from UBD and other various higher learning institutes.

The forum was chaired by Ustaz Hj.Firdaus bin OKK Hj.Nordin, UBD religius and spiritual officer. While the panelists are Awang Hj.An-Muaz bin Jinal@Zainal from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Awang Mohammad Wadood Bin Hj.Seruji from Seri Begawan Religious Teaching College (KUPUSB), Hafizah Binti Yahya from Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA) and Nursyazwani bte Bujang from Institut Teknologi Brunei (ITB).

The from titled “Negaraku Brunei Darussalam” (My country Brunei Darussalam) see the panelists are debating and explain more further on the topic and reated it to current issues in Brunei which relates to society, economy, socio and culture, education as well as career and unemployment.

Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) football team recently (Sunday,  18 December 2011) join a friendly futsal match between the team and the Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS)Labuancampus. The match was held at Layang-Layangan Football Field atLabuan. During the match UBD team managed to defeat UMS Labuan team 4-1.

According to the UBD team manager Mohd Ali Sabri bin Haji Abang who is also UBD ECA Officer said “The match was held in order to bind ties between UBD and regional universities. At the same time it is also to prepare the UBD staffs football team for future events such as the Borneo Universities Staffs Games

In order to prepare its staffs for in house emergency incidents 40 staffs from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) recently participate the First Aid course which was held at the Brunei National Resuscitation at the Ong Sum Ping Health in the capital. The course was held from 29 November and concluded on 1 December. Present to briefed and guide the participants during the course was Malai Haji Abdullah bin Malai Haji Othman as well as other trainers from the Brunei National Resuscitation.

In conjunction with its Convocation Festival 2011 Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) will held the Community Outreach Programme (C.O.P) at the Tutong District starting tomorrow (7 October 2011, Friday) at the Tutong Central Mall at the Tutong Town. The programme will be held for two days starting 7 until 8 October 2011.

During a press conference wchih was held at the UBD Student Affairs Section (UBD SAS) building this morning (6 October 2011, Thursday) Haji Faisal bin Hj.Salleh the Coordinator of the Programme for the Tutong District said “The objective of the programme is not only to bind ties between the community and UBD but it is also to expose the public on the current development of UBD. Besides during the two day programme various activities are held for the visitors such as cultural performances, coloring and photography contest which offer attractive prices which are contributed by the UBD Student Representative Council 2008/2009.”

Beside performances and competition the programme also will saw the participation of various non-government institutions and company which will showcase their latest services and products. Members of the public are welcome to visit the COP which will be open from 9am until 9pm during the two day programme.

In conjunction with its Convocation Festival 2011 (Pesta Konvo 2011) Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) through its Student Affairs Section recently (Saturday 10 September 2011) started its Community Outreach Programme (COP) for the Brunei Muara District. The COP was held in order to bind ties between UBD graduates with the members of public.

The COP programme for the Brunei Muara District is held at the UBD newStudentCentreBuildingand the UBD SAS Multi Purpose Hall. During the programme various activities, exhibitions and performance are held for the public and invited schools and guest who visited the COP. Among the performances which attract the visitors are the special Melayu Islam Beraja (MIB) themed drama performed by theAcademyofBrunei Studiesstudents, traditional dance and others.

Meanwhile at the special gallery which are setup adjacent to the UBD Multi Purpose Hall at the UBD Student Affairs Building a special art exhibition held by the “Banar Tah Tu” crews which consist of UBD lecturer and students are being held which showcase the students creativity and arts skills.

The COP programme for the Brunei Muara District will continues to be held on 12 September and concluded on 13 September. All members of the public are welcome to the COP.  Meanwhile the COP for other districts will be held as follows where Tutong District will be on 7-8 October, Belait District on 15-16 October and lastly Temburong District on 22 October 2011.

The ASEAN Universities Al-Quran Musabaqah (recital) which are held by UBD SAS spiritual and religious unit started today (19 July 2011, Tuesday) at the UBD Chancellor Hall. Photo shows behind the scene of the event prior to its launching. Photo courtesy of PMUBD member Steven Li Chen Yen.

The ASEAN INTER-VARSITY MUSABAQAH TILAWAH AL-QURAN 1432H/2011M aims to serve as a continuation of the MUSABAQAH TILAWAH AL-QURAN BETWEEN ASEAN UNIVERSITIES, which was actualised by Universiti Brunei Darussalam in 1998, and the ASEAN INTER-VARSITY MUSABAQAH TILAWAH AL-QURAN 1426H/2006M. It is also a form of positive support for the realisation of the UBD motto: Towards Human Perfection, through the characterisation of the Al-Quran as a key component of one’s lifestyle. This event is capable of uniting people, specifically UBD students and Muslim students from ASEAN universities by experiencing and appreciating the contents of the Al-Quran through the Musabaqah Tilawah Al-Quran. This is in addition to obtaining blessings from the Mushaf Jamiah Brunei Darussalam becoming the replacement for the ceremonial mace of the UBD Convocation ceremony.

Invited participants are students from ASEAN universities. Brunei Darussalam will serve as host to the representatives from the Phillippines, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

The UBD students fire marshal after they complete their course in 2009

As one of UBD initiative to make the university as a safer place not only to study and to live on the university also has a team of fire marshal who are trained to respond as first responder to every incident at UBD especially fire or any incident which required the presence of fire marshal.

Since its introduction in UBD in 2009 the UBD fire marshal are divided into two sections namely the staffs section and students section. The staff section will respond to every incident which occurs at their respective department while the students section will respond at every incident where they are at that time.

The students section are formed on 16 December 2009 with the completion of three day fire marshal course which are attended by the students. During the three day course they learn the Introduction to Fire Rescue, fire extinguishing agent, firefighting equipment such as (fire hoses, extinguishers,standpipe, key and bar and nozzles). They also learn the basic casualty extraction and basic angle rescue (Flying Fox).

According to the Senior Fire Marshal (Student) the UBD fire marshal are currently planning for large scale emergency response exercise which will saw the involvement of UBD fire marshal, UBD fire rescue cadet, staffs as well as the emergency services personnel. Meanwhile at the UBD residential college also currently being planned the fire drill and evacuation which will be held once the UBD fire marshal (student) personnel are being added.
