In conjunction with its 2011 convocation festival and to create awareness on animal rights among its students Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) through its Student Representative Council and Student Affairs Section (UBD SAS) for the first time held an exhibition on Animal Awareness. The exhibition are held starting today (10 October) until tomorrow (11 October).

The event was held at the UBD Student Centre and saw the participation of various animal care groups and societies which includes the stray animal care centre, veterinary as well as exotic animals groups. Present as guest of honour to the event was Dr.Hj.Ramlee Bin HjTinkong the Acting UBD Dean of Students. Also present was Mohd Ali Sabri bin Hj.Abang, UBD ECA Officer, Gary Goh T.Zen as the exhibition chairperson and other guests.
According to Gary Goh as the event chairperson said “This is the first time such event on Animal Awareness are held at UBD. It is held in order to create awareness as well as to change the mindset of the Bruneians on animals especially stray animals. Beside it is also an effort to promote to the public on which agency or group they should approach when they encounter animal in needs or starys”.
